How to find your next Change Management role

The market is super competitive at the moment and I'm speaking to lots of candidates who are becoming increasingly frustrated with the process.

With the right strategy, you can position yourself as the ideal candidate, here are my top tips to stand out in the current market.

1. Sharpen your Change Management expertise: Stay familiar with industry-standard frameworks like ADKAR, Prosci, and Kotter. Staying current with new trends and methodologies will make you more appealing to employers.

2. Leverage your experience with real-Life examples: Employers want to see results. Highlight specific examples of successful change initiatives you've led or been part of. Demonstrate how you’ve navigated resistance, improved adoption, and driven business transformation.

3. Showcase leadership & communication skills: Often hard to do on a CV or job application I know, but as a Change Manager, your ability to lead, influence, and communicate is crucial. Highlight your experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders at all levels. Strong communication, both verbal and written, is a must.

4. Network with change management professionals: Join groups, attend webinars, and participate in industry events. There are plenty out there, and I've got more to come soon - let me know if you are struggling to find the right one for you.

5. Tailor your CV & LinkedIn profile: Clients can be and are being super specific with their requirements at the moment... make sure you take the time to tailor your CV to get a look in. It's so easy to apply for roles these days, but my advice is it pause and adapt your CV to the job in hand. Be sure to emphasise your ability to handle complex change initiatives and measurable outcomes - show your value!

Oh, and lastly, speak with and build relationships with expert Change recruiters who have the right networks in the market. Drop me a note if you are keen to chat about your next role - jonty@freshwater-recruitment.com
